Scalp Micropigmentation

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), also known as Scalp Tattooing or Hair Tattoo is a non-invasive, non-surgical hair loss treatment that uses micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp. The result creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles that resemble a shaved head. SMP can also be done to help thicken and restore the look of fuller hair, which is a great solution for many women with low hair density and diffuse thinning.

Natural pigments are applied within the dermal layer of the scalp, adding density and symmetry to thinning or balding hair, no matter if hair is long or short. That makes SMP a great solution for hair loss or thinning hair for all genders. The look can be so realistic that most people will only know you've had SMP if you choose to tell them.

SMP can be beneficial in any of the following situations:

  • Female and male pattern baldness

  • Alopecia

  • Thinning hair (short or long)

  • Reconstructing hairlines

  • Receding hairlines

  • Adding hair density

  • Creating symmetry

  • Camouflaging scars

Patients receive 2 to 3 treatments spaced out 10-14 days between each session, followed by a touch up every 4-6 years, if needed. SMP requires little to no continued maintenance and carries no daily or strict lifestyle restrictions.
